28.1 Quizzes in Avalon and associated commands.

Avalon has a quiz-system which enables or Gods to organise and run quizzes. They must be initiated by some kind divine presence. The Quiz Master is then appointed and can determine precise rules and manage proceedings.

SCOREBOARD/SB       To review the current score board.
REPEAT              To repeat the current question.
ANSWER/AN <text>    To give an answer secretly to Quiz Master only.
RULES               To view the Rules of the current Quiz.
POT                 Show what has been put into the pot for the winner.

Most Quizzes bestow some prize on the winner. This is often determined by what is put into the pot by those present. You can add your own contribution to the pot using the INPOT command. Type INPOT on its own while in the Chamber of Knowledge to see the syntax of this command. You can put in lessons, items or gold pieces. The winner simply receives 90% of everything in the pot, while the Quizmaster receives the remaining 10%.

If you are not a competitor but a member of the audience you will find that, short of leaving, all you can do is applaud, hiss, cheer and clap. The Master of the Quiz decides who competes and who does not.
