The Ebony of Night bestows the Wings of the Night.
The Pearl of Vengeance carries the gift of Fatalism.
The Coral of Sea gives power over the water elementalism.
The Onyx of Forest gives the Form of the Bear.
The Malachite of Fate allows the wielder to use the Musical Spheres.
The Ruby of War affords the victor Grand-Chivalry.
The Moonstone of Justice gives extra sensory perception: the moon lore.
The Opal of Compassion bestows the Bonds and Touch of Compassion.
Amber of the Sun combines powers over the Flame, the Elements and the Light.
The Cornelian of Darkness bestow Astral form and Absolution.
The Diamond of Magic bestows the gift of eternal mana.
The Sapphire of Wisdom gives the gift of Constitution and Equilibrium.

The thirteen gems above bestow power on their winners but only one divine gem may be active through any given monthly or daily cycle (generally it is monthly but on occasion the Gods decree Avalon-daily active gem declaration. The winner of multiple gems must choose which gem to activate using the GEM command (example: GEM OPAL to select the opal of compassion as one's active gem) and this gem-power will remain available 'til the end of the period. Those with just a single gem will also need to use the GEM command to activate their prize; sometimes it is desirable NOT to have a gem-power in force, circumstances dictate.

There are two more gems: the emerald of Life and the amethyst of Time. The emerald is the penultimate gem, by tradition and bestows life and knowledge eternal to the victor. This means the wielder of the gem of life can never die and will find all of his or her skills pushed to their very limits: crowned ultimate in level and oft-times more besides. Traditionally the emerald is quested by the god of life and involves intimate knowledge of the land in a pacifist, celebration of 'being' quest.

The Amethyst of Time is the final divine gem and can only be thrown into the pool at the Rock Pinnacle once all fourteen of the other divine gems have been won and claimed. See HELP AMETHYST for detailed information about this gem specifically, for it bestows the greatest gift of all: the soul of a God.
