The Enchanters

The Enchanters Guild was founded in newborn Parrius by refugees from the Mages Guild. It was an amicable split but the Enchanters' outlook is more aggressive, more combat orientated, aiming to gather a smaller more elite group.

Introduction

The Mage is the purest of magic users. He learns the traditional realms of magic and magical rituals, in addition to a healthy mix of musical, spiritual and herbalist abilities. Mages vary greatly in character from the dominant to the passive. All thirst for knowledge and to expand their abilities, and the greatest among them are unequalled by any of the other magical guilds in the field of battle. Becoming a skilled Mage, though, takes time and effort - more so than many of the other guilds. Rewards for this diligence are great and numerous.

Enchanters Guild are based in the city of Parrius to the east of Avalon. They broke away from the Mages in an amicable split some time in the early eighth century, under the leadership of Eshkadeth of the Valheru. The Enchanters maintain the same level of discipline and prowess in the pure magical arts as the Mages, though they are not so bound by upholding a long history of altruism and defence of their city. Enchanters are freer to use their great powers for personal gain (or for the gain of Parrius).

The Enchanters Guild was founded in Parrius by refugees from the Mages Guild after an amicable split. The Guild of Enchanters is more aggressive, more combat-oriented, and is content to cultivate a small, elite group of fighting mages.

The mage is the purest of magic users. Apprentices learn the arts of magical rituals, spells, and the art of candescence which harnesses light for a wide range of purposes. The mage also trains in musical and herbalist abilities. The successful mage is patient and committed to a long learning process in which there will be setbacks. If you have the diligence to stick with it, this world will become yours.

The guild is based in Parrius, to the east of Avalon. The founding enchanters were led by one Eshkadeth, of whom there is little written history. The enchanters maintain a high level of discipline and high expectations of its young, but are not bound to any ideology outside the guildhouse. Compared to the Mages of Mercinae, Enchanters have more liberty to use their powers for personal gain or the gain of Parrius.

You are part of an elite force, formidable and independent, an inspiration to the young, a nightmare to your enemies, unkillable to the majority of Avalon. Stand in the courtyard of your enemy's hiding place and roar your challenge so that all our ancestors can hear you and smile.

Charming This enables you to learn, chant and cast magical spells of a specific type.
Rituals This gives you the ability to create powerful magics in a given area.
Candescence The skill of light-weaving, for both defensive and powerful attacks.
Music Your ability to play musical instruments and bring about enchantments through them.
Herbs These have various beneficial effects while poisons are harmful. The Mage is able to find and pick these.

Location

Take a short walk south from Hellespont Square onto Leaf Lane and the guildhouse is directly to the east. It is one of the easiest guilds to find.
