Connecting to First Age
Often, especially for those with little technical expertise, the greatest obstacle to playing First Age is that first connection. To play First Age you will need to select one of the clients below. Your client is the software you use to connect to First Age. JAvalon is for beginners and offers the easiest connection, requiring no installation or computer experience whatsoever. Also, we offer a proprietary, freeware client called AvPlay, which would need to be installed onto your computer. This program is also suitable for beginners.

MORE INFO |
| zMUD (Windows) |
This client is suitable for intermediate and expert players. zMUD is a shareware client created for Windows which boasts a large array of features, best described by Zugg (the creator) himself. Follow the link to his site if you wish to download or know more of zMUD's extensive abilities. WARNING: Not recommended for novices. |

| TinyFugue (Linux & Mac OS X) |
TinyFugue is suitable for intermediate and expert players. It is a freeware, command-line (also known as shell) client with capabilities equal to zMUD. Because it works in a shell (a text operating system), it is just one 'window', which means it is only as complicated as you want it. There is also a Win32 version of TinyFugue. See this client's site for details. |

Guide for TinyFugue |
| Rapscallion (Macintosh) |
Rapscallion is one of the only lasting Mac OS clients and by far the best and cleanest interface for MUDs. Unfortunately, the project of the Rapscallion client has been neglected for so long that other clients, like TinyFugue, may be a better alternative. However, this lapse means that it is now freeware. |
