The Cities of First Age
The cities of First Age are the greatest bastions of human resistance to the ever-present forces of chaos and anarchy. Each city has a distinguishing philosophy and character formed from the influences of history, its patron, its barony and its citizens.
The three major cities are centres of trade, politics and power, situated on the coasts of the great continent. Each is governed by a council of barons elected to their position by the player inhabitants of their city. It is a common ambition of many a young player to one day win an election and become a Baron of their city.
Barons have vital duties to perform and are solely responsible for overseeing the collection of commodities, for fashioning goods and food, marshalling the armies, managing the economy as well as helping to maintain order and conducting business so as to reflect the image of their city in their actions.
Each city has a patron deity, chosen by the barony as the divinity who most closely represents the ideals of the city and who will best benefit the city through counsel and divine guidance.
